Bio / CV

Heath Nock, a contemporary Australian painter, draws inspiration from his rich heritage as a descendant of one of the original traveling showmen families within the tight-knit Roma community. Raised amidst the vibrant atmosphere of showgrounds and the rugged Australian coastlines, Nock's upbringing shapes his artistic vision. His paintings intricately weave together seemingly mundane objects reminiscent of his childhood experiences, such as those acquired on the Showgrounds, with the breathtaking beauty of the Australian landscape.

With a background spanning 20 years in the art of tattooing, Nock infuses his works with a depth of storytelling and symbolism. Elements of show-ground banners, nostalgic pop culture, and a profound sense of familial love and loyalty resonate throughout his art. Nock's distinctive harmonizing tonal palette and innovative compositions invite viewers to explore new narratives and uncover hidden layers of meaning within his work. Through his unique blend of influences, Nock continues to captivate audiences with his evocative and thought-provoking paintings.
